Owner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
"I'm not here to throw medication at a list of symptoms. I want to get to know you and your world, see all of the contributing factors, and figure out a data-driven plan to help make your world better!"

Hey there, I'm Jenna Shock, owner and provider for Shock Therapy Group, LLC. I’m a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Northeast Indiana, a wife, a human mom (7 in my Brady Bunch!), a Grandma (Mimi), and a pet mom (4 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 snakes!). I have been a nurse since 2009, working specifically in psychiatry since 2014. I fell in love with the field, and graduated with my post-master's Psychiatric NP certificate in 2019. I have a pretty ridiculous obsession with sharks, enough to get me in a cage under water with Great Whites in South Africa. Set an appointment and we can learn more about each other! DO YOU SEE PATIENTS IN-PERSON? I split my time between virtual and in-person appointments, so please reach out directly if you would like to be seen in-person at my office in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I do see patients from all over the state of Indiana via telehealth as well. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO TAKE AWAY FROM A SESSION WITH ME? The takeaway I hear most often from patients after their initial sessions with me is that for the first time ever, they finally feel heard. Psychiatry is both a science and an art, and I believe in the value of taking the time to find the proper diagnosis and treat the root causes of the symptoms you're experiencing. We'll look at symptoms, situations, triggers, biological markers, and so much more, in an effort to be sure we're thinking about all of the contributors to the issue (and therefore all of the needed solutions). Sometimes that is through medication, sometimes habit changes, nutritional supplementation, sometimes therapy, sometimes combinations of the above. I'll meet you wherever you are in your healing journey and help identify the destination. From then on, you'll never travel alone. WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST STRENGTHS? I believe my greatest strength lies in my genuine "realness". Like you, I'm a human being navigating this complicated world. Parenting, marriage struggles, special-needs children, past trauma, I understand where you are because I've been there, and I am dedicated to helping you get to where you want to be. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and women, and see patients ages 10+. I'm currently completing a year-long fellowship for Functional and Integrative Psychiatry. Much of our industry treats the brain as though it is not connected to the rest of the body. We know that it is, and that deficiencies or overages in vitamin/mineral levels, thyroid abnormalities, metabolic abnormalities, sleep concerns and gut issues all affect our mental health. The more directions we’re able to attack the problem from, the more effective we’ll be able to be. I work extensively with those who identify in various places on the gender and sexuality spectrums, I will always be a safe space for you. WHAT TREATMENT METHODS AND TOOLS DO YOU UTILIZE? My approach is very individualized to each patient, based on the symptoms you're experiencing and the various root causes involved. I believe medication can be a valuable tool to aid in healing, sometimes temporarily, sometimes long-term, depending on the client. I also believe strongly in the value of therapy in breaking through barriers holding you back. Research and experience tell me that the combination is often where the sweet spot is found. We'll work together to figure out what it is that you may need. Therapy modalities are broad, and again would be heavily tailored to you and your situation. Whole-body approach means we'll focus on your mind, body and spirit through utilization of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed therapy, and more. Jenna sees patients via telehealth and in-person at our Fort Wayne, Indiana, office.

Angelica Wilson

MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Hello, I’m Angelica Wilson, and I am excited to be a part of Shock Therapy Group, LLC. I hold a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Herzing University, specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing across the lifespan. My passion for mental health began at a young age as I witnessed relatives and individuals in my diverse community struggle to access the mental health services they desperately needed. For the past 14 years, I have dedicated my career to healthcare, consistently serving the needs of others. During this time, I also earned a Bachelor's degree with a minor in Holistic Health. Throughout my years in the field, I have encountered many patients facing various mental health challenges, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety, issues that are often overlooked. While helping patients as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is one of my passions, I also continue to pursue other interests, such as being my child’s biggest supporter and traveling the world. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO TAKE AWAY FROM A SESSION WITH ME? After a session with me, my clients can expect to feel empowered, experience an improved quality of life, and a sense of hope. My goal is to continue reducing mental health stigma by providing open and nonjudgmental care for all clients. Clients can expect to gain valuable knowledge and tools necessary for achieving better mental health, all while feeling seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will actively participate in making positive changes in their lives. WHAT ARE MY BIGGEST STRENGTHS? Some of my biggest strengths include appreciating the uniqueness and diversity in everyone, being an advocate for what is right, being an active listener, showing compassion, being non-judgmental, and being supportive. Additionally, I strive to help my clients understand that everyone faces struggles in life; some just hide their struggles better than others. WHAT TREATMENT METHODS AND TOOLS DO I UTILIZE? I value the uniqueness of each individual, which shapes my approach to providing care. By using a holistic mind-body-spirit framework and incorporating cultural competence alongside evidence-based practices, I aim to see the whole person. This perspective helps my clients achieve and maintain mental health through personalized treatment plans. I utilize a combination of therapy and medication, or either option separately, to create treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Angelica sees patients exclusively via telehealth through our online HIPAA compliant video platform.

Nicole Courtney

MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner

Hello, I'm Nicole Courtney. I am so excited to be a provider at Shock Therapy Group, LLC. I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner, and also a Certified Substance Abuse Practitioner, which means I have my substance abuse counseling certification. I have 2 boys and a 3rd son that I have taken in. I even had my mother (who is the best) live with us for the past 13 years. I love my fur babies, probably more than my kids. I have two Great Danes and four cats. I decided late in life (in my 30's) to become a nurse. I graduated in 2012. I went back to school as a Family Nurse Practitioner and graduated in Feb 2020. Covid happened and the world stopped. I was unable to take my boards until Dec 2020. So, I quit my job and went to work for FEMA. Where did I go...to New York City during the height of COVID for 3 months. I came home for a month and left with them again to Texas for a month. I worked in primary care for 2 years as a nurse practitioner and worked on the side of addictions. Addictions have become my passion. Many of my patients have underlying depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc, and have not been getting treated due to a history of being judged. That led me to go back to school for my post-master's Psychiatric NP certification. I love to travel and spend time with my family and I feel I never have enough time to spend with my mother. WHAT TREATMENT METHODS AND TOOLS DO YOU UTILIZE? Every patient is different, so every treatment is individualized based on your symptoms/duration/trauma history/availability. I'm working hard to meet you where you're at in the process. Depending on the situation, medication may be involved whether it is short-term or longer-term. Therapy is another incredible tool to help talk through those things that may be bottled up and get additional perspectives and coping skills. Doing both therapy and medication management together where needed helps me to really conquer the underlying issues because I know what's going on in your world! WHAT ARE MY BIGGEST STRENGTHS? I believe my greatest strength is my compassion for my patients. I believe in treating people the way you want to be treated. I DO NOT pass judgment. All of us have families and friends, some that may need more than others. Everyone struggles at some point. I understand because I am just like you dealing with my own family and friends who need more, including family members with addiction concerns. I typically work with adolescents to 65 years of age. I want to be your supporter, as well as your provider! WHAT CAN A PATIENT EXPECT TO TAKE AWAY FROM A SESSION WITH ME? My patients tell me often that I am compassionate, understanding, and not judgmental. They feel as though I take the time to listen to them and really hear what they're saying. I spend time with them to get to know my patients, we are on this road together and a partnership is critical. I want to hear what the patients have to say so that I can accurately diagnose and treat them. You are never alone because we will work as a team to find the solution. Nicole offers appointments exclusively through our secure telehealth video platform.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
“Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’ll meet you where you're at, with compassion and understanding, as we find a way forward together.”

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 8 years of experience working with teens, adults, couples, and families. I earned my bachelor’s in psychology from Manchester University in 2014 and my master’s in Counselor Education with a focus in Couples and Family Therapy from IPFW in 2018. When I’m not in session, I’m usually spending time with family and friends, cuddling my cats, cross stitching or learning a new craft, or traveling and experiencing new cultures. These activities remind me of what matters most, connection, creativity, curiosity, and making space for the things that bring us joy. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A SESSION WITH JESSICA? Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns that aren’t working, struggling with anxiety or past experiences that won’t let go, or finding it hard to connect with the people who matter most. I get it, and I’m here to help you find your way through. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s work together to help you get unstuck and reconnect with the life you want to live. WHAT TREATMENT METHODS AND TOOLS DO I UTILIZE? My approach is gentle and compassionate. I blend evidence-based techniques like mindfulness and relaxation with a go-with-the-flow style that adapts to your unique needs. And yes, a little humor and silliness might sneak in sometimes, too. I’m non-judgmental and genuinely believe in your capacity to grow and heal. But here’s what really matters: my goal is for you to leave every session feeling heard, hopeful, and closer to what you want in life. I work collaboratively with my clients, which means we move at your pace, not mine. Together, we’ll learn to lean into the difficult thoughts, feelings, and memories that have been keeping you stuck, so you can get unhooked from them and build practical skills to move toward what matters most to you. You have permission to be human here, messy feelings and all. I’ve trained extensively in approaches that actually work, including EMDR (basic training compared and working toward certification), Gottman Method Level 2 for couples, ACT, DBT, CBT, and trauma-focused therapies. Jessica sees patients via telehealth and in-person at our Fort Wayne, Indiana, office.

I’ve only had one session so far and am so grateful for my appointment with Jenna! After feeling invalidated, pushed off, rushed, etc. by other mental health professionals, I was so worried for this appointment but was majorly relieved by the end of it. I felt heard, validated, and like I can truly trust Jenna with all my mental health needs. You can tell that she loves what she does and has a GENUINE passion to help people. I feel so much hope for my mental health having finally made the switch to see her!

I've spent many years meditating over whether I was ready to see a therapist. That said, I started sessions with Jenna in 2022, despite my reservations. To date, she has been one of the kindest people I have ever met, and has approached our sessions with professionalism and warmth. She has made what felt like a daunting and frightening process simple and truly cathartic. I am glad to have her in my time of need. Some things to know: Jenna's practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly, offers medication management, and specializes in trauma-informed care for clients from a variety of backgrounds. Jenna has been invaluable in guiding me through my struggles associated with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, PTSD, etc. Jenna allows you to lead the session (No stereotypical "...And how do you feel about that?" banalities). Having worked with Jenna for nearly two years, I can say without a doubt that she is unerringly wonderful; she is one of the best in her industry. I highly recommend.

I see Nicole Courtney R.N. through Shock Therapy. She treats me for my mental needs and addiction therapy. I started getting treatment at the age of 19, and am now 47, so I know the way the system works. The difference between Nicole and all the other treatment providers, is that she genuinely listens and cares about her patients. I was instantly comfortable w her, and this is not normal. Finding her has been a godsend. I do my appointments through Telehealth which is very convenient. (Although, I do miss seeing her in person). If you are looking for someone whom is easy to talk to and understanding, and genuinely wants her patients to succeed, then definitely give her a call. Everyone I have referred feels the same as I do.

Before I met Jenna, I was convinced that living in anything other than mental chaos was not an option. For the first time in my life, I found someone who listened, let me get angry, sad, and every other kind of emotion. Jenna also genuinely knows her stuff and has been incredible with helping me find medication that works for me. Jenna is a safe space to heal, I am insanely lucky to have found her.

Not all therapists treat there patients as real humans with real challenges. Some are just another chart with more talk about depression, anxiety etc. Jenna makes it immensely comfortable and she’s an open book about anything you are going through. She’s a major supporter of LGBTQ+ which is a bonus for myself and my wife. Her hours and availability are not just 9-5, and her online scheduling is easy to use. The virtual sessions make an added benefit for busy lives and no matter where you live in the state. Lastly her being able to prescribe my meds and offer me therapy too is wonderful to have wrapped in one provider. Then I know she understands fully where I am coming from! Don’t hesitate, she will be there every step to help with whatever is going on!

I was originally drawn to this provider because of the dad joke, because naming a practice 'Shock Therapy' is kind of genius and I and all of my friends definitely giggled. Anyway, I stayed for the quality of care. This provider is down to earth, and truly wants to help her patients. I did not see her for therapy - I saw her for psychiatry and medication and I always felt confident that she had my best interest in mind. She went the extra mile to make sure that I (and my care team) understood my limitations through testing, and listened to me with an open mind and kindness - and came back with knowledge and help. I am neurodivergent, and part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I know it can be hard to find a good psychiatric care team, and I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.
